Temporal exhibition: "Gaudí: architecture of anticipation"
From 22 April until 7 February 2014
The Exhibition presents Gaudí as an atypical creator. Instead of using the traditional methods to develop projects, Gaudí developed his own personal method based on plaster, wood or clay models and on the definition of new structures (which were precisely analysed and tested before applying them into his workings).
This procedure allowed him to realize a specific geometry that helped to establish the synthesis he was looking for between structure, form and construction. The shapes of Gaudí are very lush, but behind each shape and form there is a deep and profound study of the role each one must meet. This is the basic premise of all his work.
The content of the exhibition has more of a civic approach than spiritual. Presents the architect as a precursor of modern architecture, through a modern reading of the artist innovative strength in three fields: innovation in the urban house (Pedrera); creator of the Garden City (Parc Güell) and Sagrada Familia structures (where everything is innovative). The information presented is of best quality and of big scientific interest.
