The Government of Catalonia begins a new push to strengthen relations with Massachusetts
The visit by the Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Government of Catalonia, Senén Florensa, to Boston was intended as a first step to renew the Sister State agreement between the two governments, first signed in 1992. The goal of the meetings was to investigate opportunities for business collaboration and research, and to identify new opportunities for economic development in the biotechnology, IT and life sciences sectors, among others. The visit coincided with the Northern Ireland Massachusetts Connection (NIMAC) conference, a recently created network launched to promote clinical, business and research collaboration in the life sciences. The head of the Delegation of Catalonia to United Kingdom attends a meeting with Minister-President of Flanders
The head of the Delegation of the Government of Catalonia to the UK, Xavier Solano, attended the meeting offered by Minister-President of Flanders Kris Peeters on Monday 21 February at the City of London financial district to promote British investments in Flanders. The select group of guests included members of the diplomatic corps at the British capital, journalists and investors. Catalan Delegate had the opportunity to speak with Flemish Minister-President on trade and finance matters, as well as on current policy and on the good relations existing between the Governments of Flanders and Catalonia.(02.24.2011)

The seminar, by Professor Jaume Guillamet from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), was held on Thursday 3 February at the headquarters of the Catalan Observatory at the LSE. Presented by its chairman Professor Paul Preston, it was attended by about fifty people.
